The gold and silver are obtained from sustainable mining, which is mined without chemicals. The alloys are controlled by the Danish Precious Metal Control and hallmarked after Danish standards.
Because fair trade metal is not a standard material there are limits.
You can buy fair trade silver and fairtrade gold.
Copper and palladium are not available as fair trade materials yet.
SILVER:
The silver is alloyed as sterling silver (925). The silver is alloyed with copper, which does not come from sustainable mining.
GILDING:
All jewellery are gold plated with a layer of 5 µm 18 kt gold which means the gilding is very strong. Please be aware of this layer of gold will get worn out in time. Often you easily can refresh it. The gilding is not from fair trade metal or sustainable mining.
RHODINATION:
Rhodination is a thin layer of rhodium. Rhodium is a one of the more expensive precious metal. Please be aware of this layer of gold will get worn out in time. Often you easily can refresh it. Al rhodination is not coming from fair trade metal or sustainable mining.
GOLD:
The fair trade gold is alloyed with copper (yellow gold) or palladium (white gold), which does not come from sustainable mining. Therefore the white gold is 100 % without nickel.
EARRINGS AND FINDINGS:
All findings for earrings, ear hangers and ear clips are made of conventional metal in order to maintain a high quality.
LACQUER:
The bracelets F8 are painted with a water based lacquer (Mal code 0-1) and therefore very gentle.
